The starting point of the tour is in Suutarniemi (15 mins from Savonlinna City Center), at a shallow boat shore with a sandy bottom. Before heading out, we will go over the basics of paddling and safety procedures, making this tour perfect also for those with little prior paddling experience.
On this tour, we paddle mainly in the shelter of the archipelago, allowing you to admire both the quintessential Finnish cottage scenery and the uniqueness of the Saimaa archipelago. Saimaa ringed seals have also been spotted a few times on this tour. During the trip, we will cross the route of a steamship cruising to Punkaharju, but otherwise, you won't encounter any large vessels.
